Antonio Giordano
Professor at the Department of Biology, Temple University in Philadelphia, where he is also Director and founder of the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine. He is also Professor of Anatomic Pathology at Siena University, Italy. Worked at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories directed by Nobel Laureate James Watson. Giordano research activity mainly focused on the study of the mechanisms underlying cell cycle deregulation in cancer and other human diseases. He discovered key regulators of the cell cycle such as RBL2/p130, CDK9 and CDK10 and its pioneering studies contributed to the understanding of crucial mechanisms of cancer development.
As a researcher, he has authored more than 600 articles, received over 30 awards for his contributions to cancer genetics and human diseases .
Giordano is a member of the editorial board of several international journals.
Carmine Pinto
Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Naples, and board of Oncology and then of Hematology at the University of Bologna, he is Director of Medical Oncology Unit of the AUSL-IRCCS of Reggio Emilia. Member of several national and international scientific societies, from November 2014 to October 2017 he was National President of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM), and currently President of the Federation of Italian Cooperative Oncology Groups (FICOG). Author of over 250 scientific publications in national and international journals and member of different scientific societies such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Reviewer of international research projects for Cancer Research Campaign (CRC), Clinical Trials Committee of the United Kingdom and the French Institute National du Cancer (INCa). He has been responsible for the conduction of over 90 clinical and translational studies.

She obtained her Degree in Biological Sciences summa cum laude in 1997, her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Genetics in 2002, and Specialized in Clinical Pathology and Biochemistry at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. From 2001 to 2006 she worked as Post-Doctoral Fellow first at the Kimmel Cancer Institute, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, then at the University Federico II, School of Medicine. From 2006 to 2007 she worked as Assistant Editor for Nature Reviews Cancer and Nature Reviews Genetics in London, UK. From 2008, she has been working at the National Cancer Institute of Naples leading the Cell Cycle and Cancer Lab. She authored over a hundred articles in the field of cancer genetics and therapeutics.
